CreoPop The World's First 3D Pen with Cool Ink

CreoPOP is a new 3Dpen that uses a gel like material to print 3d objects. The material is solidified under uv light and has no need for heating, making it safer than most other 3d pens on the market now. Before CreoPOP 3D pens would use plastic(abs, pla, etc) and a heating element near the tip to melt the plastic, that caused unwanted smells and was not 100% child safe. Early bird pledges are still open for the CreoPOP, click here to pledge.

I have not backed this myself, however it is a interesting and a bit more child safe then the pens on the market now. I currently own a 3Doodler pen, I would like a CreoPOP and I may purchase one once it is on the market.

If you decide to back them, please leave a comment on their campaigns comment page that you found their project through IamABacker.com , Thank you.

Unlike other 3D pens there are no hot parts, no melting plastics and no unpleasant smell. Instead, CreoPopTM uses photopolymers that are solidified using UV light to let you focus on creating designs rather than being worried about burning your fingers.

One of the most innovative features of CreoPopTM is the large selection of cool inks. For the launch of our crowdfunding campaign, the available selection includes standard inks in many different colors, glow-in-the-dark inks and temperature sensitive inks.
There is ongoing R&D to create inks that are elastic, magnetic, aromatic, conductive, glittering and body paint inks.

We’re nearly there – we have a good prototype and an array of cool inks. For this last stretch we need your help to raise at least $40,000 to finance volume production and improve the design and functionality of CreoPopTM.

We have an experienced team already in place to bring you CreoPopTM, with over 20 company launches between us. Now you can join us in bringing the ultra-safe, cordless, environmentally-friendly CreoPopTM to the market.

We will continue to make further improvements to CreoPopTM, both in terms of design and functionality, until the pen is ready to be shipped in Q1, 2015. We seek to raise at least $40,000 to reach the minimum order from our manufacturing plant and make the final design changes to perfect the CreoPopTM.
Having said the above, we have secured sufficient funding to produce the CreoPopTM at any funding level so you will get your CreoPops even if we do not reach our $40,000 goal.

CreoPopTM packs the full power of 3D printing with light-sensitive photopolymers into the small size of a portable pen. In contrast, other 3D pens on the market, melt ABS or PLA plastic to around 250 degrees Celsius (482 Fahrenheit). In other words, when using another 3D Pen you’re holding a tiny little device at nearly the maximum temperature of a home oven. No wonder that Engadget referred to one of the leading 3D pens as “sort of like a hot glue gun that melts plastic”. While such pens might be fine for use in a garage or in a lab, for home use this seems dangerous – and certainly not okay to put in a child’s hand.
By supporting CreoPopTM you will help make the next generation 3D pen a reality. This is beyond tech bluster – unlike the rest of the market, CreoPopTMhas no hot parts, no melting plastic and no unpleasant plastic smell. Instead you can focus on the creative applications and possibilities of what a 3D pen can do.

The inks already produced include regular inks in many different colors, as well as two types of premium ink: glow-in-the-dark and temperature sensitive. We are currently working on the other types of ink that will have a variety of wonderful applications.

We did not take CreoPopTM to Indiegogo to just raise funds. We want to engage with and learn from our early adopters and community so that we can make CreoPopTM even better. We want to introduce new features and new types of inks after we finish the campaign, and we want to understand what you as a customer and a CreoPopTM owner would want. During and after the campaign we will send surveys to those who pledge to help guide our development. Joining us now makes you more than a simple contributor – you’re a partner in helping us making the world’s greatest 3D pen.

We realize we’re asking you to join us – like all crowd funding projects – before we’re finished. As a result we want to reward those who join early, as well as those who join throughout the campaign and beyond funding.
Here are our goals:

There’re many ways to get involved and help make CreoPopTM a reality. Beyond pledging for the various different perks, you can also help us by sharing the campaign. You can use Indiegogo's sharing tools below the video above to let people know about CreoPopTM on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and via email.
Thanks to Indiegogo, we have access to powerful analytics to reward anyone who shares the campaign. For every person that you refer who pledges towards a pen, we’ll send you an extra 5 ink cartridges. The only catch is that for us to be able to track it, you will need to use the referral tools on this web page. So don’t forget to use these tools – we want to make sure we reward anyone who helps us reach our goal.
Our team has launched over 20 companies in 3D printing, consumer electronics, mobile communications, medical devices, vending machines and internet services. We know how to design for manufacturability and how to manage contract manufacturers to deliver a high quality product in a timely manner. We’re not a bunch of kids with a vague idea – we’re used to getting things to the market. And we’re ready to do it again.
We realize we’re asking you to join us – like all crowdfunding projects – before we’re finished. As a result we want to reward those who join early, as well as those who join throughout the campaign and beyond funding.
Estimated delivery for all perks: Q1 2015

Each ink cartridge can print a 14 meter line at a 3mm diameter.

Yes. Our logistics partner is able to ship to most locations around the world.

Yes. The CreoPopTM pen is charged using a simple USB connection, and so it can be used anywhere in the world as long as you have access to USB charging through a computer or an adapter.

Firstly, CreoPopTM uses light-sensitive photopolymers instead of heating and melting plastic at a high temperature. This makes the pen safe to use for both adults and children. Secondly, the CreoPopTM works with an amazing selection of inks. Thirdly, the CreoPopTM is totally cordless – nothing to knock your hand or pull the pen as you’re using it.

Yes – safer than any other pen on the market. Our innovative photopolymer technology means that neither the pen nor the ink becomes warm. Other 3D pens heat to nearly 500 degrees Fahrenheit – nearly enough to break down a non-stick cooking pan. To give you some context hot water at 156 degrees Fahrenheit will cause a burn in just one second.
As well as making the safest pen on the market, we also make the safest ink. It does not contain any toxic material, it is environmentally friendly and does not emit any unpleasant or dangerous odours.
