The Pronto - Fast-Charge Battery

If you decide to back them, please leave a comment on their campaigns comment page that you found their project through IamABacker.com , Thank you.

From the creators of the PowerPot comes a new type of portable battery pack, and one we have all been waiting for a long time. The Pronto battery pack will charge almost anything portable that uses a usb cable and it will do it 12X faster! With a 5a output your devices will get fully charged in a matter of minutes not hours! I can't wait to get this and I know this is going to be one of their most successful items to date, the campaign is already past 50% funding goal!

The fastest charging portable battery pack. In just 5 minutes, you get enough juice to fully charge an iPhone 5 on-the-go!

Pronto (Promtus - Latin) means quick, like LIGHTNING QUICK, and our battery packs live up to their name. The Pronto battery packs are designed to store power fast so you can ditch the wall outlet and recharge your gadgets on-the-go!
We’re not just talking fast, we’re talking INSANELY FAST. Check out how much power the Pronto 12 can store in as little as 5 minutes:

Crazy right?! In just 5 minutes, you get enough juice to fully charge an iPhone 5 on-the-go!

Most universal battery packs give you power on-the-go but take FOREVER to charge. Waiting up to 12 hours to power up these batteries keeps you stuck to the wall and defeats the purpose of portable power.
We made it our mission to fix this problem by creating a battery pack that charges CRAZY fast from a wall outlet. We ended up with a design that allows the Pronto to charge up to 12X faster than other batteries on the market today.

Both Pronto models charge in an hour and are equipped with a rugged hard-anodized aluminum enclosure. But that's just the beginning of the Pronto's awesomeness! The long list of features below comes standard on both battery packs:

The Pronto 5's sleek design is perfect for your everyday adventures. Equipped with a high-power 2.4 A USB port and enough juice to recharge an iPhone5 3 times (4,500 mAh capacity), it is still small enough to carry with you anywhere you go.

The Pronto 12 has a 13,500 mAh capacity (9 iPhone5 recharges). It has dual high-power 2.4 A USB ports and includes a 12V adapter - allowing you to charge larger devices such as laptops, DSLR cameras, and drone batteries.

At Power Practical we know and love the Kickstarter community and have successfully launched three other campaigns with your help! Because we appreciate your willingness to help us take the Pronto 5 & Pronto 12 into production, we are offering a great price far below retail value. Back our project early to save even more on these great new products.

In order to achieve the Pronto's fast-charging design, we had to find battery cells capable of safely taking in large amounts of power. We chose a very high quality lithium polymer cell that is much more powerful than battery cells found in other universal battery packs.
Then we developed custom circuit boards that quickly charge up these cells with our dedicate AC wall chargers.

We want the Pronto to keep you charging wherever you go without any worry. With that in mind, we built a virtually indestructible enclosure made of hard-anodized aluminum. It is tough enough to withstand anything Mother Nature throws at it, and still as sleek as your other portable devices.

This durable case wouldn't be complete without ensuring that the battery ports are also safe from the elements. So we added a lightweight cap with an internal silicone seal to protect the ports from water and dirt. To ensure the cap remains secured in all conditions we added an elastic nylon strap, which can also be used to attach the Pronto to backpacks or other gear. The strap and cap also create a stand for the Pronto while you are charging.

We put a lot of energy into making the Pronto so much more than just another universal battery. We now have working prototypes of both the Pronto 5 & Pronto 12, but we need your help to take these designs into production.

Power Practical is a group of tech-savvy, outdoor lovers who think that charging your gadgets should be convenient and easy. Whether you're in an airport or backpacking the Appalachian Trail—our goal is to make energy more accessible, more efficient, and easier to understand for people across the world.

We have built our business on Kickstarter - successfully launching both the PowerPot and the Practical Meter which can now be purchased at retail locations worldwide. Our campaigns on Kickstarter even landed us a spot on the TV show Shark Tank.

Mark Cuban invested with us on Shark Tank because he sees the potential for our products to address the energy needs of people in the developing world. Apart from that initial investment, Cuban has continued to give us advice about how to grow our business both in the U.S. and globally.

Sharing great products with the Kickstarter community is our first step towards increasing worldwide access to power. 2.4 billion people do not have access to reliable electricity. We believe that with the products we've launched on Kickstarter we can help people all over the world to access electricity that is reliable, safe, and easy to use.

We have conducted initial testing of the PowerPot and our portable battery packs with promising results in India, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Uganda, South Africa, and Peru.

We wanted to share the Pronto here because we know Kickstarter is a community of artists, innovators, and early adopters.  We’ve met with success in the Kickstarter community in the past and hope that you will believe in us again. Help us bring the Pronto to life and kickstart the fast-charge battery revolution!
